The Black Canyon of the Gunnison

There are untold areas in Montrose Colorado for Recreational activity. Below is the Black Canyon National Park.
You can actually hike down into this gorge but you better be in shape. The vertical drop can be up to 2250 feet.
The river you see in the image is the Gunnison

River, it starts in several places, one of which is Taylor Park in Gunnison and the East river in Crested Butte. They merge in Almont starting the Gunnison River.

This is the Painted Wall and is the highest vertical wall in the Canyon. The neat thing about this recreational area is the many overlooks throughout the park. There are short and long hikes, several campgrounds, and you can actually get to the bottom by
taking the West Portal road to the bottom.

This is Tomichi Point another lookout. Did I mention the Gold Medal fishing?
There are guide trips through the park on the river, some parts are totally restricted because of severe danger, only a few Kayaks have been allowed to boat the whole canyon. There are places to hike in for fishing. It takes about an hour to get down and 3-4 hours to get out.

If you come to the Western Slope of Colorado and want a 1st class adventure, Don't miss Montrose and the Black Canyon National Park!!

Well a friend had this hunting dog that was afraid of gunshots.

We saw his ad for the dog not knowing it was someone we knew. Couldn't resist. He needs some work but he is classic Chessie. We have had them, the breed, over 25 years and love them.

Well since we already have a dog like this, how can you say no. So now we have double dog. The top one is 2.5 our new dog, the bottom is 9. So far so good.

Because Joan and I were formally Studio Potters for over 30 years we have been able to give away some very personalized closing gifts. I thought I would share a few images of some of our work. We are hoping to get back into our incredable studio this year and work on some one of a kind pieces and Raku pots.

We really like to give a mug basket with a couple of mugs, some good coffee, some fancy cookies and what ever fits the in the bag

This is part of the view up canyon.

Montrose Colorado Sales Statistics

Here is the yearly total for Montrose Colorado January through December 2009. As you can see we will be able to improve on last years sales with just a little more determination and hard work. I am hoping as most everyone else for a upward turn in the market.
We have had some movement in our specific office and have been encouraged by the number of people that are turning out to look at property.Hopefully we can build on this as the activity level increases as we head towards Spring.
